The young English star, Ryan Sessegnon has put an end to the speculation surrounding his future by penning a three-year contract with Fulham. The teenage left-back burst into the Championship’s club first team last season and was the subject of heightened interest from Liverpool this summer.
The 17-year old defender snubbed every other bigger approaches to join the West London club which is his first professional contract that will keep him at the club until year 2020.
In a conversation with Fulhamfctv, the left-back said: “I am very excited to see what is in front of me right now at this club, hopefully we can all push on now. In the year that passed, I received a lot of offers from different clubs, but I just want to continue here.”
Manager of the club, Slavisa Jokanovic noted that Sessegnon joined the first team squad early last summer while they were still busy with pre-season matches. He noted that the player’s performance had been commendable so far and hoped that Sessegnon will continue as a part of the team.
Jokanovic further stated that Sessegnon is an exceptional young player who has showcased loyalty and strong agility by furthering to serve Fulham since his progression from the academy. The England youth star is set to join up with the Under 19s ahead of their European Championship campaign in Georgia this summer.
Fulham who have not won any of their four Championship matches this season are currently 19th on the table having drawn three and lost one, siting with nine points behind the league leaders, Cardiff.
Sessegnon has so far featured in all the four games played, of which he started all and performed impressively. His performance in this campaign will determine the kind of offer he will get in the next transfer window.
